it was morning when we arrived from our cruise ship. my husband had become ill and desparately needed to lie down. there was only one room ready and they gave it to us! we really appreciated their compassion. my husband was able to rest and recover so we could enjoy the short time we had in auckland. we were able to walk to wonderful shopping, restaurants, and activities.

Dinner was disappointing. Have eaten here before and just did not seem to be to usual standard. Chef may have been having a bad night. Waitress was very efficent and pleasant. Rooms and other hotel services all good.

The hotel is perfectly located in Auckland, close to Sky Tower and close to the harbor. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. The toiletries are nice also. Small issue with the concierge regarding a rental car not showing up was ultimately resolved by taking taxi to rental facility paid for by Rental company.

The hotel was very nice, clean spacious rooms, and a mall in the basement. Great location for seeing CBD and waterfront. Less than 10 min walk to the ferry. Parking in the hotel was pricy but to be expected in a downtown locaiton. Overall, exactly what I would expect from a Crown Plaza anywhere else.

We had booked 2 rooms for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, as the hotel rooms in most foreign countries are quite small. However, we were very surprised to see such spacious room with large windows and ample room for luggage and even an extra bed. The facility was very new. The beds were comfortable. The rooms had all the required basic amenities. The hotel is located in a very central place close to many city's attractions, restaurants and shops, all in walking distance. The hotel even had a large laundry room with complimentary detergent. This helped us after a 2 week cruise vacation, where we could not do any laundry at all. The hotel also had a friendly staff and lots of information on sight seeing and tours. We will definitely stay at this hotel, when we visit Auckland again!

Location is pretty good; plenty of places to eat nearby and it's just a short walk to Sky Tower. The rooms overall aren't bad, but I've stayed in other Crowne Plazas that had nicer rooms (such as Sydney). I'd classify these as a notch above average. But what I really enjoyed at this hotel was the service: concierge was excellent and helped us with everything we needed quickly, enthusiastically, and professionally. They did the usual tasks like booking tours, but also did things like dropped off our rental car for us and provided us with an American 110-volt adapter to charge our electronics' batteries (something a lot of other hotels couldn't provide, and their adapter was nicer than one we used at a five-star hotel later in the trip). Overall, a great experience and would recommend.

Although it strays a bit far from Aucklands gorgeous harbor, this hotel lies hard by the central downtown shopping district; I loved that I could walk to the very hip high street shops in less than five minutes. Fine dining, the sky tower, the ballet, the civic theatre -- you can get to all of these within a 10-minute stroll. The staff is friendly, but the rooms, although spacious, look a bit shabby, and the pillows seem rather cheap for such a grand facility.

Located quite centrally. Rooms OK. View good (from our room anyway). No pool. Breakfast area uninspiring.
